THE INSECT ROOM
The Insect Room was originally white with brown rafters. Our task to change the room into more interesting and more enveloping environment.
Because of a very tight!!! budget, we used black, green and different tones of brown, to achieve a scenic backdrop.
The room is to have a ten foot foam spider hanging from the ceiling. You can also see the wall to the right is the entrance to "The Bee Room".
Every bit of scrap material was ripped into strips and knotted together to create the spiders lair.
Once the backdrop was finished, Ample amounts of foliage was stapled and glued to the frames and walls
The window lets the viewers see
into a maze-like cavern, which will be the spiders lair!!! Attaching old sturdy
branches to brackets we covered the branches to look more like a south American
jungle.
This also shows in the backdrop,
with silhouettes of ferns and bushes. The branches will be attached to the top
of the door and we gave the door a hole in a tree theme, which would lead the
browser into the cavern.
The otherside
of the door was covered with foliage and painted scenery.
Everything you see on this page.
From the walls being totally mucky white to the finished effect took 7 hours
in total.
Before the room was just a
walk between two rooms leading into the bee shop, but now its a theme`d shop
with entrances leading to the "Spiders Lair" and the "Bees Room"
