Christmas Scenic Backdrop for Hebden Bridge
We were given the chance to produce a Santa`s Grotto, which we proposed to base loosely on C.S. Lewis`s "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" Our budget was minimal and the time constraints were high due to competition. We proposed to locate the Santa`s Grotto Outside a Childrens playroom that would consist of a painted canvas surrounding with free standing columns to seperate the painted backdrops into chapters from the book. Previous Xmas Trimmings and trees were used to decorate with large icicles cut from card and painted. We purchased the three primary, Black and White 5 Litre Tubs of Emulsion for mixing the various colours we needed. The whole 15yd x 10ft high Fire Resistant Canvas was painted and suspended within 40 hours of the conceptual designs being produced.
